After a decade of development, the Apple Watch is fundamentally the same as when launched in 2015. Yes, the interior technology has undergone significant improvements there is a beginning. Larger and brighter displays. More powerful processors. A series of constantly increasing sensors to detect everything from your heart rate to incredibly fine movements.
But outside, the Apple Watch still looks like Apple Watch – more than any other Apple product. At 10 feet distance, you would not be able to say if someone has a new 10 series or an old series 4. Perhaps it is by design, but with new major health technologies such as blood suicide in years and even the blood oxygen sensor “in break” for more than a year and counting, it is difficult to find something to wait in a new Apple Watch.
Apple does not need a new health sensor to make Apple Watch exciting. He must take certain risks.
Shake the shape
The form of the Apple Watch has not changed for a decade. There was light Variations of thickness, size or curvature, but you would have trouble making the difference without holding one next to the other.
Imagine if the first decade of the iPhone was like that! As the iPhone X celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Apple smartphone, the device was already radically different from its first years.
So play with the shape, Apple. Give us a watch with flat sides – I loved the models that people made of such a watch when it was said that the 7 series would wear such a look.

Jon continues
Or offer two types of Apple Watch, a rectangular and one – Gasp – Round! Android watches have been circular since years Now, without major compromise with characteristics or the life of the battery, Apple could surely get there with some bone adjustments.
And what happened to the colors? Of course, money and black are the most popular watch colors, but these days, pink gold is the only other option. Where did the colored, blue and red green offers in series 7 have gone? Or the Rose 9 series? Like the iMac, Apple Watch, avant-garde, is an opportunity for Apple to have fun.
Do something with groups
There are a million Apple Watch groups, but they are a bit … Well … the same thing. The materials and colors can be different, but none of them added to the watch other than a small style. How about a new tightening mechanism that allows a small amount of power and data transfer, just enough to supply tiny microelectronics and send a few kilobbytes of data from time to time. Add some developer frameworks, and Apple and third party developers could do smart bands.
There have been various rumors over the years on a new mechanism, and one could imagine smart bands adding personalized sensors for specific types of activities, or even a small thin secondary screen which shows a kind of “complication”. An Apple Watch that supports new “smart groups” would be a major reason for upgrading – more than another health sensor, really.
Heck, I would buy an intelligent band that came from a wrist button that I could define on one of the dozens of different functions, as is the action button on the iPhone and Apple Watch Ultra.
Software, software, software
Obviously, there are a lot of things that Apple can and should do with software on the Apple Watch, starting by making Siri brilliant. Even before Apple Intelligence, the experience on the Apple Watch was not as good as that of our iPhone. Since none of the current Apple Watch models takes care of Apple Intelligence, this will only grow. Apple must find a way to bring the new Siri to the Apple Watch. If the SIRI models are too large to work entirely on the watch, the watch could simply work as a “speaker” for Siri on your iPhone most of the time.
When I watch people use their Apple Watch, I am struck by the quantity of the basic interface completely unused. The control center is just as bad on Apple Watch as on the iPhone – so many people do not know what it is or where it is, do not know what it can do, and when you tell them, they find it difficult to access it. He takes a bunch of iphone base functions (or Apple Watch) and deliberately fulfilling them in a hidden and confusing menu, and with regard to the average user, he could just as easily be there.
Then, there is the strange Honeycomb application grid which is like a boring little game to find what you are looking for (the view of the list should really be the only option), limited watch faces … with basic customization that always seems beyond the average user. Most of the people I see remain with the default values, may perhaps change the color, but have no idea of the complications or the way they work.
But all these things – software that is doing too much too much and not enough, and the best features of which are opaque for the average user – must be corrected on all existing Apple watches. Perhaps the transition to the new design with iOS 19 will encourage Apple to rethink Watchos 12 as a turning point to rethink the Apple Watch interface.
But the new software is only going so far. This is a new direction for equipment that is necessary to really make Apple Watch exciting again. Apple seems so focused on the laser on the next Big Heath and Fitness Sensor that he seems to ignore all the other ways that he could change the Apple Watch – a little fun and an external thought.
