Have practically spent two months since I bought the iPhone 12 Pro, and all this time I used it and tightened it to the max. In our review, we already shared our impressions with the iPhone 12 Pro with you, and shortly after, we took a deep dive into its cameras, comparing them to those of its predecessor, the iPhone 11 Pro.
Now is the time for a calmer analysis after two months of using the new Apple device. To make it easier for you, we’ll tell you what we liked most and what we liked least about the iPhone 12 Pro.
The best of iPhone 12 Pro
We start with the good. he iPhone 12 Pro includes many technologiesSome are more of the future than the present, like 5G, and others that are really promising, like LiDAR. This is what I liked the most during these two months.
A spectacular camera
For the vast majority of users, the camera IPhone 12 Pro can be your primary camera. Apple continues to improve the software that processes photos each year, and in this role the new A14 Bionic processor is essential.
The news IPhone 12 photos are sharper, night mode is available in all cameras, we have more accurate white balance and with ProRAW format we can edit photos in a much more professional and interesting way. Video recording is still excellent, far superior to any other smartphone on the market.
If the iPhone 11 Pro’s camera was already my primary camera, with the iPhone 12 Pro I’m even more convinced that mobile sensors are reaching a point where cameras only make sense professionally.
A design that falls in love
This is a purely subjective assessment. For me the The prettiest iPhone ever made by Apple was the iPhone 4, and the iPhone 12 Pro is an improved and evolved version of this design.
Right frames are a little less ergonomic, but at least for me it’s totally worth it. The design is solid and feels very premium, the iPhone 12 Pro is comfortable to wear without a case.
Flawless performance
This is not something that surprises me particularly, but it should not be forgotten for this reason. Processor A14 Bionic is a real madness, iPhone 12 Pro is nimble and fast, no matter what apps you have open.
Also, having 6 GB of RAM, 2 GB more than in the iPhone 11 Pro, is something that it shows if you open multiple apps at the same time. These won’t close and will stay open in the background when you return to them.
MagSafe
The MagSafe accessories can be a before and after. You no longer have to scramble to bring your iPhone to the charging cradle overnight, and you can use a MagSafe car charger that lets you attach and remove it in seconds, while your iPhone stays on. safe and in charge.
MagSafe represents an important change in the four iPhone 12s and surely in the future new accessories will arrive that take advantage of this technology, this is something that you benefit from day one.
The worst iPhone 12 Pro
But not everything can be good, there are some details of the iPhone 12 Pro that could use some improvement that I didn’t like so much.
The notch
I had the iPhone X, iPhone 11 Pro, and now iPhone 12 Pro, and after 4 years the notch remains the same. It’s true that in the end you get used to it and stop seeing it, but Apple must somehow improve this huge screen cutout. The notch gives the impression that the device is a bit old when viewed from the front and is the only one apart from its design.
A heavy device
Apple has managed to increase the size of the iPhone 12 Pro, compared to the iPhone 11 Pro, without the device weighing more heavily. However, due to the materials used, steel and glass, it feels heavy device.
You notice it especially if you compare it to its “twin brother”, the iPhone 12. There is a difference of 25 gramsfrom 187 to 162, which makes the iPhone 12 Pro a bit heavier and less comfortable.
Face ID in those mask days
It’s a passing review, but after the year we’ve been, it’s inevitable. Face ID does not work with a mask and we had to go back several years and enter the unlock code several times in 2020.
Apple could have implemented Touch ID somehow in the iPhone 12 to fix this, but we understand that the Cupertino company believes this is something that will happen soon and that Face ID will be more useful than ever.
It’s the the best and the worst of the iPhone 12 Pro after two months of using the Apple device. A highly recommended buy, although perhaps this year the differences with the iPhone 12 are too rare to be really worth it in front of its brother.
