Do you remember when you bought a mobile through a carrier and there were some pre-installed apps from that carrier? With the change in policy on the sale of mobiles and the transition to a market where the terminals are free, it disappeared, but on Android, if you are from Movistar, you have a number of recommended apps maybe you should take a look.
It is a curious section in the Play Store called ‘Movistar Selection’. It’s a bit hidden and might not help you much if you already have your favorite apps, but we’ll teach you how to access this section anyway. Who knows, you might discover something interesting.
How to access ‘Movistar Selection’ in the Play Store
First of all, and that means Let’s see how to access the ‘Movistar Selection’ section. The truth is that it is not very visible, so you will have to follow these steps:
- Open Play Store and, in the top bar (just below the search engine), you will see sections like “For you”, “Most popular”, “Other devices”, etc. Well, you have to go all the way to the right, to “Categories”.
- Once there, you will see many tabs that include apps of the same theme. what you have to do is go to the end and click on ‘Movistar Selection’.
What apps does Movistar recommend for Android?
This done, we already have before us Applications that Movistar recommends installing on Android phones. There are 15 applications and the truth is that they are the most curious. For example, we have Zara, Orbyt (a virtual kiosk) or TED (inspiring talks, but with most of the content in English), but we also have the most useful apps like Waze or a map of gas stations in Europe.
We also have QuitNow (it’s an app to quit smoking), Sleep as Android (an alarm clock that analyzes our sleeping habits and even snoring, like what Samsung does with its Galaxy Watch 5) and others that I don’t know if they make a lot of sense
Obviously we also have Movistar Cloud, Movistar Plus+ and Mi Movistar, applications for entertainment and control of our lines. But hey, we found this selection of curious apps in which we don’t have social networks (if we don’t consider Pinterest as such, of course) or apps as popular as YouTube. And yes, we did not expect to find Netflix, HBO Max or SkyShowtime because, after all, they are competitors.
