PDF (Portable Document Format) is a file type that allows documents to be presented regardless of the software, hardware or operating system used. This means that a PDF document will look and read the same on any devicewhether it’s a Mac, iPhone or Windows PC.
PDF is therefore a very versatile format and can be used for many different purposes. Being extremely important in the digital world and widely used to send and receive almost all types of files, it is best that we are able to create a PDF document quickly and easily
A more comfortable way when we do it again and again
Create a PDF in the fastest and most comfortable way possible on Mac use a simple keyboard shortcut. Let’s review, before, the steps that we would have to follow to create a PDF manually. We open the document in question, press Command (⌘) + P to print it, click the PDF button, write a name and save.
With a keyboard shortcut we can reduce these steps to open the document in question, press Command (⌘) + P twice and then Enter. An improvement which, although it makes little difference if we create a PDF very occasionally, if we will notice it when we repeat this process again and again
Set this keyboard shortcut in macOS Ventura it is very simple. The steps to follow for this are:
- Click the Apple () menu and choose System Parameters.
- we played in Keyboard in the left sidebar.
- we played in Keyboard shortcuts.
- In the sidebar we select Application shortcuts.
- We touch the “+” to add a new shortcut.
- In the title of the menu, we write exactly “Save as PDF…” without the quotes, but with the last three dots.
- In keyboard shortcut we write ⌘P simply by pressing on it.
- we play Accept.
Ready. We can now navigate to any document, whether it’s a Pages file, a website we visit, or a Word document we want to convert to PDF, and then by pressing Command (⌘) + P twice and then Enterwe’ll have our saved PDF in a second.
Using keyboard shortcuts can be very effective when performing some common tasks on Mac. Although the improvement in efficiency may seem minimal at first glance, over time and frequent use of these shortcuts, you can notice a big difference in how quickly tasks are completed. Creating a PDF of any document is a good example.
