Two days after the release of iOS 18.4, Apple started the 18.5 beta testing cycle. The developer's first version landed on April 2 and we expect a wide outing in May (or perhaps at the end of April).
The latest iOS versions had their X.5 releases in May, with only minor characteristics and changes, and we expect the same thing this year, especially now that the new Siri planned has been delayed.
iOS 18.5: New features
We have not yet discovered new features in the IOS 18.5 beta version, but we will update this section while we and the test community discovered them. However, with the major SIRI improvements pushed from the iOS 18 update cycle and the beta iOS 19 from WWDC in June, we do not expect many new important features – just a few touch -ups, bugs and safety improvements.
iOS 18.5: how to install the public beta version
If you want to be among the first to test iOS 18.5, you can register for the public beta test. The installation process of a beta version has changed in iOS 16.4. Here is how the new process works now:
- Click Sign up on the Apple Beta page and register with your Apple ID.
- Connect to beta software.
- Click Register your iOS device.
- Open it Parameters App, press GeneralSO Software update.
- In the beta updates section, select the IOS public beta version.
This can take a few moments after registering for the beta option to appear in the software update.
iOS 18.5: how to install the beta developer
You will need to be saved as a Apple developer. Starting with iOS 18.5, you don't need to be in the developer program of $ 99 per year to access the beta developer. A free developer account will do the trick. You can get one via XCODE or Apple developer application in iOS. Here's how to do it via the Apple Developer application:
- Download the Apple Developer application from the App Store.
- Open the application.
- Press the account.
- Connect using your usual Apple ID.
Registered developers can choose to obtain the public beta version by selecting Public beta iOS in the software update screen. This can take a little time after registering as a developer for the option to appear in software updates.
