Google released the first public beta of Android 15, the next major update to your operating system. Although this is a test version, intended for developers and users who want to have a first glimpse of what’s new in Android, this version is more stable than the first. Developer Preview that Google released a few months ago.
The first public beta of Android 15 is available for Google Pixel devices, and includes some very interesting changes and improvements. Next, here’s what comes in Android 15 Beta 1 and which devices are compatible with this version.
The most important news from the Android 15 beta
In mid-February, Google released the first developer version of Android 15, Android 15 Developer Preview1, which included some of the new features that the final version of the operating system will include: the ability to save only one part of the screen (the one occupied by the application used) and a new control panel for devices connected by Bluetooth.
Now the first public beta of Android 15 adds the ability to archive apps to free up storage space. This is a previously leaked feature (and part of the second developer build of Android 15) and is different from automatic archiving of Play Store apps.
In the Android 15 beta, it is possible to manually archive an application by accessing the menu Settings system, then to the section Applications then to the application. The last step is to press the “Archive” button.
If we want to reactivate the application, we must return to the application information menu from the system settings of the mobile and press the button “Restore“.
Another novelty of the first beta version of Android 15 is that it implements by default the use of the entire screen by applications, i.e. from one side to the other
