Since emergence at the end of 2022, artificial intelligence is everywhere. And its first uses, such as writing texts, are experiencing a constant expansion that seems to have no limits of any kind. Every day in Europe we discover some of its practical applications, such as its integration into household appliances and televisions to make the user’s life easier, but they can also have a direct effect on our daily work.
Plaud Note, a new credit card-shaped device, saves a lot of time and tedious tasks thanks to the integration of several OpenAI technologies, such as GPT-4 or Whisper, a machine learning model for speech recognition and transcription. His goal ? Make it as easy as possible to take notes during calls and meetings, both virtual and in-person..
For this, Plaud Note has a double recording system. A switch allows you to choose between two options. On the one hand, there is the air conduction sensor, ideal for recording high-quality ambient sound during conversations, conferences or for taking voice notes. On the other is the Vibration Conduction Sensor (VCS), designed to accurately capture sound from the mobile phone’s speakers when attached to its rear area.
The minimalism of the gadget is total and in its thin body, only a few millimeters thick, it also has a button that is used only to start and end recordings. Despite its finesse, Plaud Note has 64 GB of storage, enough for over 480 hours of audio. The battery also offers interesting capacities: 60 days of standby time and up to 30 hours of continuous recording, although files can last a maximum of 5 hours without pause.
The device has Bluetooth, with which it connects to iOS and Android phones so that after recording a call, voice note or meeting, it is synchronized with the Plaud AI application. You will be able to find all the recordings there later, both audio and their textual transcriptions. In just a few minutes and thanks to GPT-4, the application also offers a summary of the recording with the highlights.
The results can be edited and even change the language and it’s that simple add tags to be able to classify them and facilitate the subsequent search of conversations and recordings.
The device is now available in three finishes (Black, Starlight and Silver) via its own website, at a price in Europe of 150.08 dollars. This includes a free subscription for 3 months for PLAUD AI, plus 10,000 minutes of cloud storagewhich significantly increases the memory capacity of the device itself.
