ChargerLAB analysis reflects clear transfer speed increase in iPhone 16 lineup
Apple presented its iPhone 16 series on September 9 with a wide variety of new features such as a sharp increase in battery life, camera improvements, a powerful A18 and A18 Pro chip and Camera Control. But, in addition, the Cupertino company has integrated innovations of which no mention has been made.
This was the case of transfer speed of the USB-C port of the new iPhone 16 models. According to a recent analysis by ChargerLAB, the charging speed of the iPhone 16 line’s USB-C port and MagSafe technology is much faster than previous generations.
Tests carried out with an iPhone 16 Pro Max show that your battery charges 20% faster than the iPhone 15 Pro Max. But that’s not all. The news comes a day after we discovered that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is the smartphone with the best battery on the market, according to Tom’s Guide.
Apple iPhone 16 Series Charging Speed Analysis
ChargerLAB enchanted us an exhaustive and indelible analysis which reflects the clear superiority in the charging speed of the USB-C port of the new iPhone 16 phones compared to the iPhone 15 generation.
The platform used an iPhone 16 Pro Max with a long list of Apple accessories and third-party accessories. The results conclude that the device is 20% faster in charging speed than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
However, it is imperative to emphasize that with Apple’s standard 20W power adapter there is no significant differenceboth iPhone models charge their batteries at 18W. However, with more powerful charging adapters, the results are enlightening.
iPhone15 | iPhone16 | |
---|---|---|
20W adapter | 18.65W | 18.86W |
35W adapter | 24.85W | 30.55W |
61W adapter | 25.03W | 30.27W |
65W adapter | 25.13W | 31.47W |
The power transfer speed of the iPhone 15 USB-C port appears to be capped or limited to 25 W. For its part, the charging speed of the iPhone 16 reaches 31 W of power with larger chargers.
Using a 20W Apple power adapter, the charging speed only reaches around 18W of power on both phones. But with using a more powerful power adapter like UGREEN Nexode 65W Charger, the charging speed will exceed 31W.
On the other hand, to charge the battery of an iPad or Mac at higher speeds you can use this UGREEN Nexode X 100 W charger, we tested it and the difference is more than noticeable.
In another order of things, Apple also redesigned the internal structure of its new phones to help dissipate heat and prevent your battery from overheating. Additionally, the new internal design of the iPhone 16 would also make battery replacement easier, although it is now slightly more expensive with a 20% increase in Apple’s repair service prices.
