iOS 18.3

It's almost ready… the latest beta of iOS 18.3, known as the Release Candidate version, is now available to developers, in addition to the latest beta of iPadOS 18.3. What new features does it include? When will the final version be released?

iOS 18.3 will not represent a major breakthrough in terms of Apple's artificial intelligence, even if it includes some improvements in this aspect. Without being an update with big changes, These are the main news which includes:

  • Compatibility with robot vacuum cleaners in the Home app
  • Apple Intelligence notification summaries: Apple has temporarily disabled News notification summaries due to identified issues. It also allows you to disable them for certain specific applications and if you enable them it tells you that it is a feature in beta phase
  • Improvements to Genmoji and Messages tools
  • The camera control button can now be used as on conventional cameras to lock focus and exposure. When using it, Apple has renamed the “AE/AF” setting to “Lock Focus and Exposure.”
  • Improvements to PDF editing, added a warning when cutting content that what was cut can be recovered.

If no major bugs are detected in this latest beta version, it is expected that next week the final version will be released for all users. At the moment this Release Candidate version is only available to developers, but in the next few hours it will also be available to users registered in Apple's Public Beta program.
