Just a few days ago, Android Auto was updated to version 10, which has resulted in a series of updates since this major design change called “Coolwalk” was announced last year. NOW a bug has been discovered with the app that leaves Google Maps open even if you get out of the car.
In these latest versions of Android Auto, the option to use Google Maps from the mobile has been included so that even the passenger can keep an eye on the route. It is whether connected by cable or wirelessly
Now, in version 1.0.0, a new bug has been found that tarnishes the user experience a bit. And it is that, as always, when the app is launched, Maps starts with the phone connected, but the Maps application will remain active even if he got out of the car. In fact, an active notification appears in the status bar of the mobile and does not even disappear after a few minutes, as it should.
This bug appears on the Google Pixel, according to 9to5Googleand on Samsung phones cited by some users of the social network Reddit. And it doesn’t matter if Android Auto is connected by cable or wirelessly with some adapters already present on the Spanish market. The notification is persistent all the time from the status bar, but at least there’s a way to remove it.
Merely expand the notification and tap on exit navigation. In this way, it disappears and the mobile returns to a normal state. We will have to see if Google has already found a way to solve this bug, and it is that at the moment it has been almost a week since some users have discovered it on their mobile phones.
Not that it’s a major problem, but it makes it work Google Maps in the background with this notification that warns about app usage and excessive mobile battery usage. All that remains is to wait for Google to release an Android Auto update or simply apply it server-side.
