If there is something that Apple knows how to do when it becomes serious, it is Create products that fall in love with everyone. In recent days, we have had a flow: starting with the iPad Air M3, the iPad A16, the Mac Studio … But if there is one that shines above the others, it is the MacBook Air M4. It may seem a new renewal: a more powerful chip and voila. Until next year.
But no, the MacBook Air M4 is The consolidation of the change initiated with Apple silicon Five years ago and a real fear for window manufacturers. Because with its drop in prices and its greatest power, there are few computers who dare to shade it. So much that from my point of view as an editor (and Apple seller for years), it is The best purchase you can make in this decade. Do you want to know why?
Beyond the M1: the M4 climbs the bar (and the breeze)
In 2020, Apple presented the M1 chip, and from that moment on us, everything changed. It was a revolution in laptops: power, efficiency and autonomy as we had never seen before. And the most incredible is that, Five years later, the M1 continues to operate as the first day. Now imagine what the M4 chip can do, designed to overcome what already seemed insurmountable.
The M4 chip learned everything during these five years at the MacBook Air. With a 10 -Ore processor MacBook Air M4 is up to 23 times faster that the model with Intel processors. In addition, the neural engine accelerates artificial intelligence processes, being three times more effective than in M1. What does that mean? That you can edit photos, 4K videos or even play demanding titles such as Civilization VIIWithout the laptop losing the pace.
But here is the best: its autonomy. Until 6 p.m. battery. Yes, you read that right. A laptop that accompanies you throughout the day and a little more. If you come from a MacBook with Intel, this is a leap to six overtime. Something almost unthinkable a few years ago.
But, as a video editor that I am, I was able to work with the M4 chip of the Mac Mini and I have a clear conclusion: The basic model can with everything. Ok, I am not director of Hollywood. But I publish videos of about thirty minutes. I thought I needed a “pro”, but no.
Before the M4 chip, I worked with the M2 Pro, and I can make sure that the performance is similar between the two families. And it changes everything. Not only for price savings, but for models that were previously dedicated to day -to -date users and that, for some of us, they remained somewhat behind.
16 GB of minimal RAM: which costs more, already comes by default
If there is something that has irritated many users in previous generations of MacBook Air, it was the need to personalize the Settings to add 16 GB of RAMwhich has considerably increased the price. This changed last October, and this MacBook Air M4 follows its wake: the minimum RAM is 16 GB.
Think of this: Barely a few years agoIf you wanted a MacBook Air with 16 GB of RAM, you had to pay more than 200 dollars. Now Apple gives it to you as standard and, with it, not only do you save money, but you know that this laptop will not slow down, even when you have many open applications, to work, study or create content.
Apple Intelligence is the best example that this Mac is made to last
One of the big news of the MacBook Air M4 is its integration with Apple Intelligence. Apple highlights this very much because it MacBook Air M4 is attacking “old Mac with Intel and Windows computers. The reality is that Apple Intelligence is also compatible with this primitive MacBook Air M1.
And that reaffirms why the MacBook Air M4 can literally be the best purchase of the decade. If this first generation of the M1 chip gives the same today And five years have passed, how far will the M4 arrive? We are faced with a jump that seems disproportionate: a power that is not only huge, but overcomes what you need up to date. But this is what makes the M4 special: it is not only designed for what you want to do today, but for everything you want to do in five, six years or more.
Impeccable and unbeatable design
Everything is not the chip, my friends. He would use all this power if we didn't have where to take advantage of it, right? The MacBook Air It was completely redesigned in 2022 And the current design goes for a long time. Especially see how the iPhone 16th maintains this “notch” for the camera. The MacBook Air design is exquisite and unrivaled by any other brand.
Light and robust thanks to its aluminum accommodation. A large comfortable keyboard. Like your trackpad. He has an anti -there and The screen is quality because only Apple can do. In addition, it is available in two sizes and four colors. These are all good words, but this is the case. And the best comes now.
The decrease of one hundred dollars in price crowns at MacBook Air M4
Apple did something we expected: it reduced the price of the MacBook Air by one hundred dollars compared to the previous generation. If it was already a great purchase option, now becomes irresistible.
You can get the MacBook Air M4 from 1,199 dollars, or 1,069 dollars if you are a student.
This descent adds to what you win with the M4 chip, this greater basic RAM, camera improvements, battery, design … compared to the prices of previous models and even with the Mac with Intel processors (which offered much less at higher prices), this MacBook Air M4 becomes a difficult purchase to ignore. If you were waiting for a perfect opportunity to go to Mac or renew yours, it is. In about ten years, we can speak again if you wish.
