Apple announced on Tuesday several new accessibility features to come to MacOS later this year. The features will be part of MacOS 16, which will be revealed at WWDC25 on June 9.
The features are highlighted by a new Magnificent application with continuity camera functionality. Mac users already know the continuity camera and its ability to use the iPhone camera as a webcam. Now, with the Magnifier application, a Mac can use the iPhone camera (or any other USB camera) to display the environment and zoom.
For example, users of a conference room can use the Magnifier application and the iPhone camera to closer to a white board at the front of the room. Winding it will also be able to display several live session windows where a user can look at a presentation and follow in a book at the same time using the office. The brightness, the contrast, the color filters and the perspective are adjustable, and the views can be captured, grouped and recorded to add to once later.
The new Accessibility is a system level functionality to make text easier to read. The text can be personalized for color, font and spacing, and users can also move on to spoken content. Since the accessibility player is on a system level, it can be used in any application, including new accumulation.
Other new accessibility features to come on MacOS 16 include:
- Braille access: Users can use an integrated application launcher to open any application by typing with a braille screen input or a connected braille device. Braille Access allows users to take notes in Braille and do calculations using Nemeth Braille. Braille Ready Format (BRF) files can be opened directly from Braille Access. The integration of live legends allows users to transcribe conversations directly on Braille screens.
- Substantive sounds: Can be personalized with new equalization parameters, hours of reading time and new actions for automation in shortcuts.
- Personal voice: Use automatic learning on devices and artificial intelligence for a more fluid and more natural voice. Support for Mexican Spaniard will also be available.
- Vehicle movement snles: Available on the iPhone and coming to the Mac, this function can help reduce transport evil when driving in a moving vehicle by displaying animated points that correspond to the movements of a vehicle.
Vehicle movement signals can help prevent transport evil for the moments when you use your Mac as a passenger on a bus, train or car.

Apple also updates iOS 19 and iPados 19 with several new accessibility features. Apple often takes the opportunity to present new accessibility features about a month before the WWDC Keynote. Last year, the company highlighted the monitoring of the eyes, the musical haptics and other features of iOS 18.
