The design of laptops has barely changed in all the decades they’ve been around; They are always divided into a screen and a computer, joined by a hinge that can be closed for easy transport. This concept has not changed even in the best laptops, which have only improved in aspects such as power, thickness and weight compared to those of 30 years ago.
Laptops may not need to be modified; After all, they’ve survived some tough times, the most recent being when companies wanted to take the leap into the “Post-PC” era, which ultimately didn’t happen. But that doesn’t stop some manufacturers from experimenting with interesting concepts, like the products presented today by ASUS.
In addition to the ASUS ROG Phone, the company also has has completely renewed its range of laptops, both gaming and productivity, in the ZenBook, VivoBook, Zephyrus and ROG Strix ranges; The improvements are evident in every way, with brighter OLED displays across the range, the latest Intel and AMD processors, and new Nvidia and AMD graphics. In short, a renovation that makes them even better.
But all these laptops, although very good, failed to attract as much attention as the new one ASUS ZenBook Duo. Originally, this laptop was based on a very interesting concept, having a small screen at the bottom, just above the keyboard; The idea was to have shortcuts, tools and information about the programs or games we were running on the main screen. The new model presented today expands on this idea, and never said better, because the secondary screen is now as large as the main screen.
Indeed, the new ASUS ZenBook Duo is a two-screen laptop, but not just any two screens; East the first to use two 14-inch OLED screens for a very different experience from the usual one. Both panels are identical, ASUS Lumina OLED with 3K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, but obviously the key lies in the flat hinge that allows us to place them as we want.
The ASUS ZenBook Duo can be put in all sorts of configurations
It’s possible to rotate the screens 180 degrees, for example, and work on one screen and see changes in the document or image on the other screen, which is ideal for work presentations; where we can get a 19.8-inch work surface which can be stood up thanks to the supports integrated into the laptop itself. The best thing is that, if we want, we can use it as a conventional laptop just by adding the removable keyboard. Perhaps most surprising is that all this has been achieved by limiting the weight to 1.35 kg and using the latest Intel processors, including the new Intel Core Ultra 9 with integrated NPU for artificial intelligence tasks, accompanied by 32 GB of RAM and more. with 2 TB of storage and a 75 Wh battery with fast charging.
Another very striking product presented today by ASUS is the ZenScreen Fold OLED, an external display that we can connect to our laptop, console, tablet or smartphone via its mini HDMI and USB-C ports. So far nothing extraordinary, the interesting thing is in the ‘Fold’ part of the name, which indicates that This screen is flexible like that of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold smartphones.

It is the first foldable OLED monitor on the market, with a size of 17.3 inches, allowing excellent image quality anywhere in a smaller format. The OLED panel is DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified, revealing high contrast levels and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut with Delta-E 2 color accuracy.
The prices of both devices in Europe have not yet been announced.
