The new WhatsApp features we’ve all been waiting for are coming

WhatsApp

WhatsApp continues with the rhythm of updates and new features that make the application the most interesting alternative in the messaging application market. You can now quietly leave groups, choose who sees you online, and block screenshots on WhatsApp. Additions that will improve your privacy and your interaction with the application.

All these features will start spreading among iOS users gradually during this August. It is likely that some of these functions will not be available on your device, so we recommend restarting the app or continuing to wait, as the rollout will be staggered.

  • Quietly leave the groups: People will be able to leave a group privately, without having to notify all participants. Now, instead of notifying the whole group on exit, only admins will be notified.
  • Choose who can see when you’re online: Seeing when friends or family are online helps us feel connected to others, but we all have times when we want to check our WhatsApp privately. For those times when you want to keep your online presence private, it’s now possible to select who can and can’t see when you’re online.
  • Block screenshots for messages set to show only once: The set-to-view-once posts feature is already a very popular way to share photos or videos that you don’t want to be saved permanently. Now, WhatsApp will enable the blocking of screenshots feature in such messages to add an extra layer of protection.

This last option to block screenshots is still in development with a small number of selected users, so it could be delayed until September.

I started playing Xbox a lot thanks to Call of Duty online. Since then I haven't stopped playing competitive online.
