The successful sub-brand Xiaomi, which debuted with the everlasting Pocophone F1, has experienced a quite eventful year 2023. It launched entry-level phones like the POCO C65, without neglecting other price ranges with the expected POCO X5 Pro and POCO F5. Finally, the POCO F5 Pro made it possible to attack the high end with an affordable price.
As 2024 approaches, it plans future releases, as a successor to any of those mentioned. It is POCO X6 Pro 5G which was exposed in a leak, letting us know some of its features. This will be POCO’s bestseller for next year’s mid-range.
Upcoming launch (in January) and specifications of the next POCO mid-range
When Xiaomi revealed and launched the Redmi K70 family in China, many of us started betting on how these would eventually make it to the rest of the world. Everything indicated that the most economical version – no less attractive – was the future POCO F6, aimed at the affordable high-end of the sub-brand.
However, as we read in Xiaomiui, it will not be like that. Instead, it will be the aforementioned POCO X6 Pro 5G which will collect the specifications of the Redmi K70E, leaving us without doubt on its specifications. According to the specialist portal, this will be launched next January, already well before 2024.
Now let’s see what it will hide inside. First of all, the “brain” of this POCO changes manufacturer: Qualcomm will not put one of its processors, but Mediatek and its Dimensions 8300 Ultraa high-end chip that aims high.
The software that will run in the veins of the future POCO is also known. It will be HyperOS 1.0 based on Android 14, so it will have the latest version of Google’s operating system and will come with the new Xiaomi.
On the other hand, its panel is distinguished by a resolution greater than FullHD+: 1.5K or what amounts to the same thing, 1,220 x 2,712 pixels. It can also boast of a brightness reaching 1,800 nits as the maximum value. In terms of autonomy, it doesn’t look bad on paper, thanks to a 5,500 mAh battery which will charge quickly at 90 watts.
If these specifications end up being met, it will be a more than suitable successor to the POCO X5 Pro 5G: improvements in power, screen and even battery. When will it be available? We shouldn’t wait too long, since everything indicates that we will see it announced next January, with worldwide availability.
