The Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) has taken an important step in the dissemination of Spanish literature by launching its digital library, a platform that offers free access to more than 4,800 classical works. This literary treasure includes writings by iconic authors such as Cervantes, Lope de Vega and Rosalía de Castro, among others. The initiative aims to bring the general public and researchers closer to the fundamental texts of our culture, by preserving and disseminating the bibliographic heritage accumulated by the RAE over three centuries.

Accessing this vast collection from your iPad is a simple and straightforward process, and what's more, you're done. to be able to store all this content in PDF. Here's how to do it:

  1. Enter the RAE digital library: Open the Safari browser on your iPad and navigate to the official RAE website: www.rae.es. In the main menu, select the “Digital Library” option to access the catalog of available works.
  2. Discover their catalog: Once inside, at the top you will find a search engine that will allow you to locate specific works by title, author or theme. Additionally, you can browse the different literary categories to discover new titles of interest.
  3. Selection and download: When you choose a book, a page with detailed information about it will open. Scroll down until you find the “Download PDF” button. When you tap it, the PDF will load in the browser.
  4. Save it to your iPad: With the PDF open, tap the share icon located in the top bar of Safari. From the options that appear, select “Save to Files” and choose the desired location on your device. Alternatively, my preferred option is to choose the function “Open in books” so that the document is saved directly in the Apple Books application, making it easier to read later and allowing us to integrate all the functionalities of this application.

As we said, if you decide to store multiple works, it is advisable to organize your files in folders within the Files app or in the Books app, depending on your preferences, as this will allow you to Easily access your readings and keep your digital library organized.
