We’ve been talking for many months about the second generation AirPods Pro, Apple’s noise-canceling AirPods launched by Apple. October 2019, six months after the launch of the second generation of AirPods, AirPods which released a wireless charging case (although the version with charge via lightning is also available).
According to Japanese media outlet Macotakara, Apple plans to launch the second generation of AirPods in April this year, a launch that would coincide with the third generation of the iPhone SE. Regarding the third generation of the iPhone SE, I doubt that Apple will renew it so quickly
Macotakara, which bases its information on sources in the supply chain, does not offer more information in this regard, only indicates that the charging box measurements will be 21mm thick, 46mm long and 54mm wide.
If we compare these measurements with what the AirPods Pro charging case is currently giving us, we can see the main difference in the case width.
The case of the current generation of AirPods Pro has a width of 60 mm by the 54 mm of the next generation according to this Japanese media, so we can expect a charging case slightly smaller than the current generation.
What to expect from 2nd gen AirPods Pro
A few days ago we published an article in which a rumor indicates that this second generation could arrive on the market in two sizes, a second generation which it will be managed by the W2 chip replacing the H1.
This information would confirm that Apple is working on some AirPods Pro Lite, a model which would not include noise cancellation and which would benefit from the same design to isolate partially to users in your environment.
