In May last year google announced that in the first quarter of this year 2022, it was going to be launched in the play store a new privacy section that would require apps to report all data collected by their apps. In July they showed how this privacy and security section was going to be and from October the developers could already start providing this information internally in the Play Console.
The launch of the new privacy and security section of Google Play
The data security section will arrive in April
The wait will only be two months. The new release date is end of April. From this date, the section of data security from Google Play will start hitting users. Additionally, developers now have a new deadline to report to Google Play how they are using our data. Before, they had a deadline until April but with the delay, the deadline increases to July 2022, three more months to complete the security form.
The data security section is Google’s response to data information collected by App Store apps that Apple introduced over a year ago. And the goal is the same: the user to see what data an application will collect and the reason for such tracking
In this way Google Play will require all developers to be transparent with the data they collect from their userssince everyone is obliged to explain to Google and to users why they want our data. If a developer does not provide this information, their application may be removed. from Google Play once all terms are complete.
