Being able to use Waze in Android Auto means having access to one of the best in-car navigation apps. Especially when Waze is already compatible with Coolwalk. However, problems are encountered in using the application in the car. Fortunately, this is not a serious problem.
However, the fact that it is not a serious failure does not make it something minor, since it implies high consumption of the battery of the mobile when keep app in background once it has been used in Android Auto. In fact, even if it is disconnected, it is still active. The positive part of this is that Waze is already working on the solution.
Waze acknowledges the bug and announces its future solution
As stated on Reddit, this is the Waze version 4.93.5.11 encounters the bug. This is the latest version available on Google Play and, as we have already told you, it causes it to stay in the background when used in a vehicle compatible with Android Auto.
This means that apart from a low consumption of RAM resourcessmartphones see that battery slowly drains. Something useless if you take into account that once users get out of the car, they don’t use the app.
In the aforementioned Reddit thread, Waze itself wanted to know more exactly how the bugs are presented and they claim that they will fix it soon. In fact, this same wire was used to be aware that this Waze bug has also manifested itself on iPhone and CarPlay
Looking at Waze reviews on Google Play, one can find a comment that gives visibility to another bug with Android Auto. In this case, we are talking about slow scrolling and small font size
If you’re one of those experiencing these or other failures with Waze in Android Auto, you should keep an eye on Google Play to see if an update has already been released to fix it (at the time of this news, this did not happen). And if this problem is too tedious for you, it is better to use another alternative such as Google Maps until the solution is found.
