While Sony is not having its best mobile phone time, the Japanese firm continues to launch new models and look after the ones it already has on sale, which is key to continuing to maintain the trust of his clients.
As part of this strategy, he started updating two of his mobiles to the latest version of Android. These are the Sony Xperia 1 and Xperia 5.
The Sony Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 are updated to Android 11
At the end of last year, Sony published a schedule for updating its terminals to Android 11. It indicated that in February 2021 the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 would make the jump but it seems they have anticipated.
Several users of these models received an update with the version number 55.2.A.0.630 and with a weight of approximately 1 GB. It includes the new version of Android, version 11, but also the December 2020 security patch.
For the moment Sony has not published what is the history of the evolutions of this version, beyond the news of Android 11 that we tell you in video.
Some Sony users had expected new advanced photography features in the camera app, but it looks like it hasn’t been implemented, at least in this update.
This update is being sent to European models so users who have it in Europe should receive it shortly.
