Another week we started Las Tallas de Applesfera, where we review the news of the last few days. With WWDC in mind, we have products in our sights such as Apple Watch Series 7 and the legendary blood glucose sensor. It’s also time to see the consequences of tracking the iOS 14.5 app, as well as the light at the end of the tunnel in Epic’s lawsuit against Apple.
Glucose sensor, privacy under iOS 14.5 and Epic vs. Apple
The WWDC begins to approach on the horizon as we consider what to expect from upcoming operating systems. Before entering the topics of the week, we wonder what will look like the new macOS, already developed with Apple Silicon equipment in the street. This will be the first version to be able to fully exploit all of its advantages.
And we quickly turn to the Apple Watch Series 7, which is said to have a glucose sensor. We doubt it can reach this version, but we are sure that next year or next year it should already be ready. The Apple Watch glucose sensor will arrive, but we don’t know when that will happen.
Regarding iOS 14.5 and its new privacy tool which blocks tracking of apps and websites, this week we learned that 88% of users worldwide have it enabled. In the US, the percentage is even higher, with 96% of users rejecting the track. Here we are talking about the good work that Apple has done as well as creating private tracking tools as an alternative.
We review the latest events in the case of Epic Games against Apple, where a light appears to be seen at the end of the tunnel. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers proposed a compromise that could end the competition. Although for this, both companies would have to give in to their demands.
And finally, we remember when Apple removed the Illuminated Apple from its portable Macs. We explore the possible reasons that led to it and how we might see a possible resurrection of such a mythical logo.
