The trend of switching from Android to iPhone is becoming more and more noticeable, it is now revealed which iPhone is preferred by ex-androids
This is becoming more and more visible cases of Android users moving to iPhone. The reasons can be numerous and this is the one The variety that exists in terms of brands and the very fact of the operating system encourages some to look in this direction (not so dark). Recently, the CIRP company published an interesting report on new iPhone buyers coming from Android. Lately, this figure has remained between 13 and 15 percent over the past two years.
iPhone 14 is the most popular choice for Androids switching to iOS
According to the report, new iPh one users in the United States who have Android are choosing the iPhone 14 or 14 Plus. The percentage is clear, it represents 26% of purchases. The iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max is very close to a percentage point less.
There is the iPhone 15 but it is rare that new buyers do not choose it. And what is it due to? They don’t choose the new but the most recent. Maybe they don’t want to make a first purchase, but first get involved in the new ecosystem and find out if it satisfies them or not. This is corroborated since the report also shows that from a budgetary point of view
Some users left their Android device rather mid-range and therefore less expensive than an iPhone. According to CIRP, older devices are generally the best economical option..
It’s tempting to switch from Android to iPhone, why?
Speaking from my own experience, in June 2023 I switched to this good side of the coin since Android was starting to bore me at the operating system level. Additionally, many friends and family members own iPhones. the use of AirDrop, Face ID and iMessages becomes essentialBesides the convergence between the current ecosystem I have (macOS, tvOS and now iOS).
There are other users who have stayed on Android for more years and point out similar benefits. FaceTime, quick notifications and the purest operating system like this Reddit user are important advantages to highlight. On the other hand, in the case more from an Android to an iPhone, they lean towards the design, optimization and even the use of Safari are more than satisfactory experiences.
Most of these users who switch from Android to iPhone could in the future be like my colleague Ángel Roca who has been using an iPhone as his primary device since 2010.
To come back to my personal case, my last iPhone was a 7 Plus and I kept it for 4 years. The new features that Xiaomi presented in 2020 tempted me at first and I made a satisfactory purchase but in terms of performance it only lasted almost 3 years. My requirements changed and I decided to go for an iPhone 14 Pro. The Xiaomi now serves as a secondary device, I plan to keep said iPhone much longer since iOS and how the iPhone works are very different from 2016.
