These are the new features of iOS 17.3

iOS 17.3

After several weeks of testing, we have already the final version of iOS 17.3 for our iPhone and iPad. What important changes does this update bring? We will tell you about it below.

iOS 17.3 is now available for download on our devices. It’s already an official version, no Betas to try, so now you can go to your devices settings, and in General > Software Update you can update your iPhone and iPad. If automatic updates are enabled, when your device is connected to charge and with a WiFi connection, it will download the update and you will later be notified that it is available for installation, although this may take several days for this to happen. It’s not a very flashy update, but it includes some interesting new features, including one that improves the security of our iPhone in the event of theft or loss. Here is all the news:

Protecting Stolen Devices

  • Stolen Device Protection increases iPhone and Apple ID security by requiring Face ID or Touch ID without a password to perform certain actions
  • Security timeout requires Face ID or Touch ID, one hour wait, and then additional successful biometric authentication before sensitive operations such as changing the device passcode or ID password Apple can be carried out.

Locked screen

  • New Unity wallpaper honors Black history and culture for Black History Month

Music app

  • Collaborate on Playlists lets you invite friends to join your playlist and anyone can add, rearrange and remove songs
  • Emoji reactions can be added to any track in a collaborative playlist

Other improvements:

  • AirPlay support in hotels lets you stream content directly to your in-room TV in select hotels.
  • AppleCare and Warranty in Settings displays your coverage for all devices connected with your Apple ID
  • Crash detection optimizations (all iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models)
