Apple has announced the return to the offices for September 5!
The return to normalcy has posed several problems for Apple, ever since the company announced the return to Apple Park last year. After discussing the working conditions and proposing a hybrid model that will come into effect next monththe differences persist and it is that Apple employees just don’t want to go back to the office.
According to previous reports Apple offered employees to come to offices three days a week from Apple Park, but a recent report shared by the Financial Times says they are now advocating “flexible on-site working”. The report cites a petition signed by **the “Apple Together” group **which is making its way to Apple.
This movement argues that a “one-size-fits-all senior leadership mandate” fails to meet the “many compelling reasons” why some employees are “happier and more productive” when working outside of office arrangements
It’s alright, far from Apple Park
Given the work environment that Apple has championed for years, calling it essential for creativity and achieving better teamwork, the return to the office is necessary for the company’s leaders. However, it is no less true that the restrictions generated during the pandemic have generated some of the best results for Apple in years.
Even if the logic would be to bet on a midpoint, members of this group demand that Apple allow employees to work with their “immediate manager” to decide their working arrangementsand that they should not be subject to “high-level approvals” and “complex procedures” or having to provide private information.
The petition further calls on Apple to “encourage, not prohibit, flexible working” where employees can “feel comfortable ‘thinking differently’ together.”
