There are still a few months left to meet the Galaxy S25 family, the next flagships from the Korean manufacturer which have already started to leak. We recently learned of the possible renaming of the processor that will be inside, a new Snapdragon that will be revealed soon.
And regarding the Galaxy S25 Ultra, there are even more details: its design will be thinner and lighter than previous generations. The renders we’ve seen indicate a noticeable change in the aesthetic section, particularly the rounded corners which are more comfortable in the hand. Now, a new leak affects the software: it would be the first time that the multimodal version of Gemini Nano comes out of the Pixel.
Samsung wants all of Google’s AI. For that you need a change
With Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung made sure to give its software several Artificial Intelligence Features. But the Korean manufacturer’s terminals do not only live off their own functions: others from Google such as “Circle to search” or support for Gemini Nano have also been added.
Gemini is Google’s AI and Nano is its local version, which does not require connection to servers. This AI on the device adds smart responses to Gboard, although with the debut of the Pixel 9 it has evolved: now it’s multimodalallowing the entry of images and voice, in addition to text.
For now, this newest version of Gemini Nano is exclusive to the latest Google phones. However, a new Galaxy S25 leak He claims this will come to Samsung as well, although it would mean quite a big change internally.
As we read in Android Police, there is a coincidence that invites us to think about a change of processor for the Galaxy S25. MediaTek announced today that its flagship Dimensity 9400, releasing this month, will be “optimized for Gemini Nano with multi-modality.”
This will be the first MediaTek processor compatible with Google’s local AI (multimodal version), and without the Taiwanese manufacturer having announced the phone on which it will debut, information from Gizmochina indicates that the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are serious contenders to equip it.
The clue the media is referring to is an entry on the Google DeepMind blog. Google explains how MediaTek uses AlphaChip technology “to accelerate the development of its most advanced chips, such as the Dimensity 5G used in Samsung mobile phones“.
Although the Galaxy Tab S10 series is committed to the Dimensity 9300+, it is excluded that the allusion refers to these Samsung tablets. The fact that the Dimensity 9400 could be the heart of the Galaxy S25 would calm things down. concerns about Exynos chips from Samsung. And incidentally, they would allow them to run the multimodal Gemini Nano outside of the Google Pixel for the first time.
Regardless, we’ve seen other leaks announcing Snapdragon processors for the Galaxy S25, so the latest is in the realm of speculation. In the coming months, we will dispel doubts: Samsung flagships could be released in January, as happened this year with the Galaxy S24.
