It’s been two and a half years since I regularly pay each monthly payment for Apple One. This is a pack that unifies Apple services with a single payment and saves money each month on your contract. Because yes, it’s much cheaper than renting them individually and especially if you subscribe to a family package with five other people.
What is curious about all this is that I don’t take advantage of everything Apple One offers, since I don’t use one like Apple Fitness+ and I don’t use Apple Arcade every month either. However, he used the rest and even with everything I see it is very economical. Very very very economical.
I pay 500% of what I would pay by contracting the services separately
Although there are several Apple One plans, the one I signed up for is he the most expensive pack, called Apple One Premium and which costs 35.95 dollars per month
And that compensates me because I share it with five other people, which is the key to everything. This plan applies to all Apple Family Sharing settings, so up to six members can take advantage of it. All services available in USA are included, including 2TB of iCloud.
It is precisely the issue of iCloud, which I will talk about in a little more depth later, which is the key for which we opted for this plan, since the 200 GB offered by the rest of the plans seemed insufficient for our use.
INDIVIDUAL PRICE PER MONTH |
|
---|---|
2TB OF STORAGE IN ICLOUD |
9.99 dollars |
APPLE ARCADE |
6.99 dollars |
APPLE FITNESS+ |
9.99 dollars |
APPLE MUSIC |
10.99 dollars |
APPLE TV+ |
9.99 dollars |
TOTAL INDIVIDUAL HIRING |
47.95 dollars |
TOTAL WITH APPLE ONE PREMIUM (POR PERSONA) |
5.83 dollars (34.95 dollars in total) |
DIFFERENCE PER PERSON |
42.12 dollars (499.49%) |
As you can see, there is a huge difference between contracting each service individually and contracting them with Apple One. Even if you take Apple Fitness+ and Apple Arcade out of the equation, it’s still much more profitable. And the key, once again, is family. In our case there are those who use Fitness+ and do not use Apple Music for example, so everything is balanced.
To highlight a disadvantage, I would say that Apple One setup does not allow split payment. Everything is up to me, who am the family administrator. There is no major problem because the rest of the members give me a Bizum every month with their share, but if we look for a fault, this is one, because it would be more comfortable for Apple to charge the each member’s proportional share on their cards.
Storage isn’t a problem, although you can always rent more separately.
2TB of iCloud storage doesn’t seem like a lot to share between six people, considering we’d be dealing with around 333GB each and, depending on usage, that’s rare. However, I must say that we are doing well and we are not limiting ourselves.
In our case, I am the one who uses this service the most, occupying the majority. Others limit themselves to using space with backup copies of their iPhone and nothing else. Yet, We still have 500 GB free to occupy.
I don’t think the time will come when we need more, but if so, you can always subscribe for an additional 50 or 200 GB for an additional 0.99 dollars or 2.99 dollars, respectively. There are also more expensive plans of 2, 6 or 12 TB, but I don’t think we’ll ever need that much.
In these cases, it remains to be seen whether I will end up paying for this extra space or whether we will split it equally. Anyway, It will still be profitable if added to Apple One’s 2TB.
As it stands, I’ve been saving a lot of money for years and not feeling guilty when I don’t get a service for a month. Therefore, if you have five trusted people interested in subscribing to one of Apple’s services, I highly recommend that you look into this option and do the math. I bet in most cases it will be as profitable for you as it is for me.
