Xiaomi is a manufacturer that has been betting on foldable mobile phones for several years. In fact, they have already launched three generations of their Xiaomi Mix Fold, and in their home country, China, more and more foldable phones are being sold.
However, so far, all of their foldable phones have been of the “Fold” type, meaning they fold like a book. This is about to change with the new Xiaomi Mix Flipand the company has released the first official details, including its processor, camera and large external display. The world of foldable products is preparing to receive a very interesting proposition.
These are the first details of the Xiaomi Mix Flip
The Xiaomi Mix Flip has a 4.01-inch external screen with a resolution of 1.5K and a maximum brightness level of 1,600 nits, and an interface adapted for this panel that is more square and smaller than the main one. What is very interesting is that the Mix Flip has an independent speaker and microphone that allow you to use your mobile phone to make calls when it is closed. The external display also allows you to use a full keyboard for typing.
The processor that the Xiaomi Mix Flip has is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, accompanied by a vapor chamber system for cooling. The mobile will use UFS 4.0 type storage and LPDDR5 type RAM. In addition, the Xiaomi Mix Flip includes a more than generous battery for a foldable clamshell mobile, with a capacity of 4,780 mAh. All these details have been revealed through Xiaomi’s official profile on Weibo.

I’ve been much more captivated by the flip phones than the “Fold” ones, because while I recognize how appealing it can be to carry a phone in your pocket that can “transform” into an almost 8-inch tablet, I find it much more interesting and even exciting the possibility of carry a traditional sized smartphone that can be made more compactand be able to continue using it while it is closed. And according to its first details, the Xiaomi Mix Flip promises to be very versatile once closed, it will be a very interesting rival for mobile phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Motorola Razr Ultra and OPPO Find Flip.
Xiaomi will then present the new Xiaomi Mix Flip Friday July 19 at 7:00 p.m. in China. However, for now, it is not known when it will arrive in Europe and other territories of the world.
