This Apple device hasn't been updated in too long and I don't think it's worth it at this point
A thousand days. A thousand days have passed since Apple launched this device at the market. As it stands, it is one of the few that the Apple company has in its catalog that I cannot recommend at the moment. A device that looks old no matter how you look at it.
Presented on March 8, 2022is set to become one of the longest Apple devices on sale without receiving a renewal. And, given that when it was released it seemed like a somewhat old device, it's too long.
Don't even think about buying this Apple device
The Apple device that hasn't been updated in over 1,000 days is the third-generation iPhone SE. The cheapest iPhone sold by Apple is also one of the least recommended currentlyin my opinion. And here are the reasons:
- Completely outdated design: The external design of the iPhone SE 3 is practically identical to that of the iPhone 8, a model launched in 2017 which, in turn, is based on the iPhone 6 launched in 2014. It has huge side bezels and a physical Home button with Touch ID, being the only Apple device with this button. All this makes it look old-fashioned compared to the
- Insufficient battery life: Despite the A15 chip's power efficiency improvements, the iPhone SE's battery is still limited due to its compact size, which may be insufficient for users who demand all-day battery life. especially during intensive tasks or with the use of 5G.
- Small LCD screen– The 4.7-inch Retina HD display uses LCD technology, far behind OLED displays on newer models, which offer better contrast, deeper blacks and more vibrant colors. Additionally, the small size may be a disadvantage for those who prefer large screens for consuming content or working.
- Too high a price for what it offers: Although the iPhone SE is Apple's most affordable model, its outdated design and features don't justify its price compared to more modern alternatives on the market. Its official price is 529 dollars, with Apple models like the iPhone 13 at similar or cheaper prices.

The solution is on the way
This iPhone model can go, overnight, from the very unrecommended model to one of the most interesting. It is expected that Apple updates the iPhone SE to its fourth generation early 2025, improving all its weaknesses.
The new iPhone SE 4 will have a updated design based on that of the iPhone 14. We will have a 6.1-inch OLED screen and Face ID and a much more decent battery. In addition, it will integrate the latest A18 Pro chip, compatible with Apple Intelligence and a 48-megapixel main camera. And all this in an area that might not be much different from the current model.
Therefore, I think that It's never been more useful to wait to buy a new generation of Apple device. It will take a leap of several years which will make this model one of the most interesting in the range.
