It’s no secret that Xiaomi is preparing the launch of an electric car, which will immediately become a direct rival to Tesla in terms of characteristics and price. We know this because the company itself announced it last year during the presentation of the Xiaomi 13; but other than that, Xiaomi tried to keep the project secret when it could, only to be “betrayed” by her own employees.
Xiaomi doesn’t have everything to surprise us when it finally celebrates the launch of the Xiaomi SU7, its first vehicle based on the new HyperOS system. It’s not just that most of the technical details have been leaked, it’s also even the official press photos were made public
The fact that we knew so many details about the car before its presentation, including the press photos, did not go to Xiaomi’s liking. Today the company confirmed dismissal of three employees for disclosing information about their electric car; and warns that it will take legal action for violating the code of conduct they agreed to when joining the company. Additionally, Xiaomi will sue two Chinese media outlets for breaking confidentiality agreements and prematurely publishing car information.
Xiaomi car video
Now, a video published on the social network Weibo and republished on X (Twitter) and TikTok has become the latest nightmare (or masterstroke) of Xiaomi’s marketing department, showing the new car driving on the roads without any camouflage. Indeed, as it does not have a license plate, it bears the name SU7; It is therefore very possible that the video was captured while an advertisement was being recorded.
Either way, the video gives us the best view yet of the Xiaomi SU7 circulates in real traffic, and did not stop in the press images as until now. In this way, we can better appreciate the shapes of the car, which are clearly inspired by other electric models such as the Porsche Taycan or the Tesla Model S; Additionally, the rear is very reminiscent of the Hyundai IONIQ 6, although this may be due to the name “Xiaomi” which appears very large between the rear lights.

Also note the yellow brakes, which don’t seem to match the rest of the design but are a striking touch that will likely be reserved for the SU7 Max or SU7 Pro version, which will also feature an active spoiler that will increase depending on speed for ensure aerodynamic stability. The flagship models will also have a battery different from the base model, based on nickel-manganese-cobalt, of 101 kWh with a charge of 800 V and which promises reach 800 km in CLTC cycle
