We’re in a key week for the Apple Vision Pro, as reservations for the long-awaited Apple Glasses open this Friday. However, many unknowns remain to be resolved. such a new device in the Apple product family. The user’s first interaction with them is one of the keys.
And that’s precisely what leaked. In his latest newsletter, Mark Gurman talks about What will the evidence to present to buyers look like? in the Apple Store in the United States, the only territory in which the Vision Pro will currently be available. It will be a visit of almost half an hour which, according to the Bloomberg analyst, will be divided into five blocks.
A very different path from that taken with the first iPod, iPhone and iPad
These three devices have been Apple’s most revolutionary devices over the past 20 years. A music player, a smart mobile phone and a tablet. Being all new for Apple to date, the truth is that knowing their respective operations was not complicated. It took some getting used to, yes, but it wasn’t anything that different from what you had already experienced.
The first sensations with the original iPhone are good proof of this. And we marveled at now-everyday things like zooming in on photos with two fingers or watching the animations while scrolling. We didn’t know all the ins and outs of the system, but ultimately we knew how to access it. After all, the way to interact was with our own fingers, which ended up being very intuitive.
However, the same thing doesn’t happen with glasses like the Vision Pro. There are more AR and VR glasses on the market, but Apple offers something different for manipulation. The fact that these products are so specialized means that understanding how they work is not common.
Furthermore, Apple wants to create a wow effect from the start It is therefore not enough to let the user discover everything, but rather to show it to them from the first minute. From there comes the tests, which Gurman says will last about 25 minutes and will aim to be very similar (perhaps the same) to the demos that were given to journalists and other experts during the Vision Pro’s presentation at WWDC 2023.
First, that the product adapts perfectly to the user.

Poor Vision Pro fit or nearsightedness are obvious obstacles for a user who wants to enjoy the glasses experience. Therefore, according to Gurman, this will be the first thing that the Apple Store employees who serve as guides in the demos will attack: strap and cushion adjustment, lens scanning and readjustments.
Remember that the Vision Pro will be delivered with two types of straps so, in addition to adjusting as best as possible to the head, they are as comfortable as possible, without there being a constant feeling of weight. Being afraid of them falling off our head is also something that would be unproductive for the enjoyment of the device.
Next step: let us be surprised by what the device is capable of showing

Example of what the application menu looks like in visionOS, the Vision Pro operating system
Once the adjustments are made, Gurman discusses the real start of the demo with 25 minutes of tests divided into several blocks. In the first they begin display photos already stored in “Photos” from other devices such as iPhone. Also several examples of panoramic photographs.
In the second part we begin to see space videos like those which, we remind you, can be recorded with an iPhone 15 Pro since iOS 17.2. These are three-dimensional videos that promise an immersive experience when viewed with Vision Pro, giving a certain sensation of seeing the scene before our eyes.
In the third part of the demo They aim for productivity and the use of glasses as a computer. Gurman says it will explain and demonstrate how to display different application windows, as well as scrolling through a web page. We understand that physical and virtual keyboards could also be used at this stage.
The last block is perhaps the most spectacular and with which Apple intends to leave a good taste in your mouth: 3D films in which the user is the protagonist while being totally immersed in the scenes. Gurman also cites an example that we had already heard from people who might try it and it is a type of video in which the user sees themselves crossing a bridge through a rope with so much realism that it could destabilize the user.
This will not be a mandatory demo for buyers (especially if purchased online)

I have to say that These tests are not just for buyers. The company will soon open appointments so that everyone can come and try them in one of its stores and, without any commitment, enjoy the demo and satisfy their curiosity. Department stores are said to have up to twelve Vision Pro units.
Likewise, they will not be obligatory for any customer. However, it is recommended to go through a physical store if possible, since this will allow you to acquire the straps and cushions that best suit each person as is the case with Solo Loop bracelets for Apple Watch.
For now It is still unclear whether they can be tested in other countries. like USA. We know they won’t be for sale, and in some ways it doesn’t make sense to test them thoroughly. We’ll have to see if things change, since Apple’s idea (unless otherwise stated) is to launch them sooner or later in more territories.
