Although some companies like Telefónica see the great danger of pirated IPTV, it is important to remember that this technology has great potential for legal and official uses; in fact, some media broadcast over the Internet using this protocol.
IPTV is a protocol that allows online video streaming, devoting part of the available bandwidth to guarantee the quality of the image and avoid possible jumps; Originally, this was an attempt to achieve an experience more similar to traditional television, although today this is no longer a problem in most of Europe.
Thanks to IPTV broadcasts, it is possible access television channels for which we would normally need a receiver like a normal TV; For example, it allows us to watch TV on the mobile or on the computer, quickly and easily.
Free IPTV Channels
Although, as we said, there are many pirate channels, the ones that really interest us are the official channels or the authorized distributors of the content; the problem is that it can be difficult to find them, especially since most of the time they are not promoted or even found on the official channel pages.
Fortunately, the Internet community has already done this job. On Github it is possible to find a list of free and official IPTV channels, which allows us to access this content simply by using a compatible player. In fact, there are several lists, with a main one that offers only some of the content (and another list for adult content); there is also smaller lists dedicated to specific countries, languages and categories
IPTV channel lists are web addresses that end with the “.m3u” extension, which tells the program that it is a list of several multimedia files that can be played one after another or at the user’s choice. Therefore, we only have to enter the GitHub page and search for addresses that end with “.m3u” depending on what we are looking for: channels from Europe, channels in Spanish or all available channels.
To use an IPTV list, you must first obtain a program or application compatible with this protocol; the good news is that there are many, although the most famous is VLC, the player available for almost all platforms. VLC for Android is able to play these lists, in addition to VLC for computers. There are also other options like Kodi, an alternative to Netflix, which are also relatively popular.
The only thing to do is copy the address ending with “.m3u” and paste it into the program or application, in an option that usually appears as “Open network location” or similar. Once the list of channels is loaded, you can easily switch from one to the other; these channels will always be available, as long as we have an internet connection.
