According to whom you ask, spring has arrived in the northern hemisphere. Although we did not expect a full event, Apple was subject to the publication of several key products within the spring period, and as if it is, Apple CEO, Tim Cook, launched the week with an animated article on X which said: “There is something in the air”, the same slogan used by Steve Jobs original at igamesnews San Francisco.

Cook's post occurs one day after Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported that the release of the M4 MacBook Air is “imminent” and that an announcement arrives “early as this week to come”. The new MacBook Air should update its chip from an M3 to an M4, and perhaps upgrade the integrated camera towards the same 12MP central camera which made its debut with the M4 MacBook Pro, but no other major update is expected. The M4 chip made its Mac debut in the MacBook Pro, Mac Mini and Imac last November.
A new M4 MacBook Air is essentially a safe thing, but the “air” teasing could also refer to a new version of iPad Air. Gurman declares that there are “signs” that his launch is coming, but “he will probably not come in the coming days”. Apple could also update the standard iPad at the same time. Several reports have said that the retail inventory for the iPad Air and the 10th generation iPad has decreased in recent weeks.
The current iPad Air has an M2 chip and was published in May 2024, so an update would come less than a year later. This update has added an M2 chip as well as a new 13 -inch model. In January, Gurman reported that the new iPad Air could ignore the M3 chip and have an M4. Apple has experienced production problems with M3 and would like to move all production to M4.
An update of the standard iPad would come from two and a half years after the current 10th generation iPad, which received a major update in October 2022 with a new design that eliminated the home button, upgraded the rear camera and moved the selfie cam to the edge of the landscape. The new model will likely include an A17 Pro chip with 8 GB of RAM, the same chipset in the iPad Mini which allows it to execute Apple Intelligence.
