tracked his AirTag through 35 cities

AirTag, cities, tracked

The device was in a wallet he lost on an American Airlines plane.

Apple AirTags let you locate any object using the Finder app

Currently, the market offers us a large catalog of handbags, wallets and purses with AirTags, a small tracking device that allows you to locate any object to which it is attached. Indeed, very little time has passed since the launch of AirTags and they have already made it possible to recover vehicles, bags, keys, AirPods… and even to arrest thieves!

Recently, this useful accessory from Apple was used to catch a thief stealing luggage from an airport thanks to geolocation. We’ve seen all kinds of stories about AirTags, but…we’ve never read anything like the story you’re about to hear.

A man chases his lost wallet through 35 cities

John Lewis, a vegan fitness enthusiast, flew with American Airlines and when he got off the plane, he realized that he had lost his wallet. Luckily, he had included an AirTag in the wallet so he could locate it anytime through the Find My app on his iPhone.

Unsurprisingly in a situation like this, John called the airline to ask if they could get his wallet back. Later from American Airlines they informed him that they could not find him. But John claimed the AirTag on his wallet said that I was still on the plane.

American Airlines employees couldn’t find John Lewis’ wallet

Now (spoiler alert) imagine you lose a wallet, you find it for a total of 35 different cities to finally realize that the only thing left is the AirTag. Well, that’s what happened to the good John Lewis.

“I left my wallet on an American Airlines flight on Tuesday and they said they couldn’t find it, but there was an Apple AirTag and I was able to watch my wallet travel to over 35 cities and more.”

The company reached out to John again via Twitter for more information. What happened is that they were finally able to find an AirTag strapped under an airplane seatso someone found the wallet and removed the AirTag to avoid getting caught.
