The Android 14 rollout continues to progress step by step, reaching more devices from different manufacturers. Samsung is also immersed in this update processbut unlike others, he already has it ready for many of his Galaxy.
One UI 6 is not a huge change compared to the previous version, but it brings small touches that allow us to personalize our mobile as much as possible. They are even more evident in locked screenwhose settings exceed what has been seen so far in Samsung’s customization layer.
Everything you can customize on the lock screen
The lock screen is traditionally where we see clock and notifications. On the contrary, it has had room for quick accesses like those that Android 14 allows you to modify (in its pure version for the Google Pixel), but the truth is that this screen gains in totality with the landing of One UI 6.
Samsung is working to add more customization options, those that make our device unique and personal. To do this, of course, we must go through the settings of our Galaxy to see for ourselves the new possibilities.
Upon access we will see the usual options that allow us to adjust the type of lock (with PIN, code, pattern, etc.), as well as additional unlocking methods (facial recognition or fingerprint). But it is also the place where we can mode settings ‘Always visible‘ (screen still active in its translation into our language).
Regarding this section, we do not see any significant changes: we can continue to personalize the AOD watch in detail, with style or color. However, the big change what One UI 6 brings is present in the section called “Lock screen”, which gives us access to multiple modifications, some different from those we already had in One UI 5.1. Let’s see what we find here.
- Watch customization– With seven watch configurations and nine styles, the possibilities only multiply. As if that were not enough, we can change the color of the clock, among several options.
- Customizing notifications: two different styles, the one which shows the icons of the applications which have sent notifications, or the default one of Android (with cards where we see more details on the alerts).
- Contact information: You can leave a message which is visible as soon as the unlock button is pressed. Useful for leaving information in case we lose our Galaxy, or for including medical details in case of emergency.
- Quick access– Just like the stock version of Android 14, Samsung added the ability to change bottom corner shortcuts. By pressing this option we can replace both accesses, giving us the possibility of including applications, without exceptions.
In its different combinations lies the secret to creating the lock screen of our Galaxy more personal than ever. Naturally, it is very easy to apply changes here, and the possibilities that Samsung offers us hardly have any limits. Regardless, it is possible that in future versions of the software these will be increased further.
