Apple published the ipados 17.7.8 on Monday, an update for older iPads who cannot execute iPados 18. Update 17.7.8 is for the 10.5 inch first generation iPad Pro, the 12.9 -generation iPad Pro and the sixth generation iPad.
The update solves a problem where iPads carrying out iPados 17.7.7 did not allow users to connect to an application. The publication note indicates that the update includes “important security fixes”, but the document of Apple's security versions indicates that iPados 17.7.8 have not published the CVE entries – in other words, the update does not deal with anything recorded in the common database of vulnerabilities and exhibitions.
To install the update, open the Settings app and access the software update. You will need an internet connection and the iPad will have to restart.
The current version of iPados is 18.5, which was published last week. However, Apple publishes updates to older operating systems, such as iPados 17, when the functionality is altered, serious bugs have been processed or vital security fixes are available.
