iOS 16.3 is already with us and it’s one of the big updates we’ve been waiting for for a long time. In a few days the first betas of iOS 16.4 will begin and with them the new features that Apple will want to launch in this update. in the inkwell we have a lot of cool features Apple unveiled at WWDC 22 and yet they have not seen the light until now for one reason or another. It is likely that many of these features will not see the light of day in iOS 16 and Apple prefers to wait for the release of iOS 17. A year marked by new features in iOS and iPadOS left in the dark
As we said, iOS 16.4 will arrive in the next few months and its development will begin with the first betas for developers. Parallel to Cupertino already working on iOS 17, the next big operating system from the big apple that will be showcased at WWDC 23. As we said, Apple showcased various WWDC 22 features that were going to make it into iOS 16 but they haven’t done it yet. Will they do it in the next iOS 16 updates or will Apple surprise iOS 17?
First, we have the Safari push notifications. The announcement came in June with the presentation of iOS and iPadOS 16. And it was nothing more than the incorporation of a system that supports push notifications from websites in Safari, as it has been the case in macOS for a few years now. While it’s true that we don’t know anything about this feature in the latest betas, Apple might want to reserve the feature for iOS 17 with a facelift of all web apps.
Another of the novelties we are waiting for like water in may are Apple Classical Music. A section or service dedicated to classical music integrated with Apple Music. We’ve been behind this service for years with indications of its launch in the iOS source code but we still don’t know anything officially. All that is known is that Apple acquired Primephonic in 2021, a streaming music service dedicated to classical music. Given what has been seen, it is very likely that iOS 17 integrates this function as a novelty of Apple Music.

Beyond these functions, we have the news of Pay Apple. At WWDC22 we heard about the option Apple Pay Later, a credit anticipation system by Apple for making purchases. With this, a payment was split into different interest-free payments to the user for the purpose of the Big Apple advancing the money (through a bank, presumably) so they could buy what the user wanted via Apple Pay. We also pending the incorporation of the savings account in Apple Pay, a savings system thanks to Apple Pay partner Goldman Sachs.
At last, CarPlay also has a facelift pending with new features and customization options. Apple has announced new widget speed, deposition, temperature and much more in the panels. In addition to controlling the air conditioning and radio or customizing the native Apple Music or Weather widgets. We’ll see if a big CarPlay update arrives with iOS 17, a system increasingly integrated by more and more cars.
