WhatsApp launches reactions for users of its public beta

The next great novelty of WhatsApp is already visible and its final launch should be close.

We’ve known for weeks WhatsApp is working on a novelty that could revolutionize our chats. It is reactions to messages sent to us with an emojiwithout having to answer directly. It’s something that’s been available on Telegram for a few months and that iPhone users have enjoyed on iMessage for years, but it’s a welcome novelty.

Now, as shown WABetaInfo, reactions to WhatsApp messages are closer than ever since the latest beta sent to users already enables this option. At the moment the latest update WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.22.8.3

has enabled this option for some users, and the same is expected to happen with the iOS beta.

Finally… after 7 months since our first message reactions article, WhatsApp is rolling out the feature to select beta testers in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.22.8.3. There are 6 reactions available in this update: Like, Love, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Thank You.

As we can see, Lara reacting to a message would only have to lower it. will appear on 6 reaction emojis available and we will play the one we like the most. Whoever wrote this message will see a notification that someone has reacted to their message.

This is one more step to officially launch this feature after implementing the ability to manage reaction notifications in WhatsApp iOS Beta and WhatsApp Desktop Beta. For what the official launch of this new WhatsApp feature could take place in the coming weeks.
