It’s official. WhatsApp has confirmed that by the end of the year, the instant messaging app will stop working on iPhones that are still running versions of iOS 10 and iOS 11.

Which iPhones will stop working with WhatsApp?
As we anticipated, phones currently running versions of iOS 10 and iOS 11 would no longer support WhatsApp. The version of iOS 11 was presented in June 2017 during WWDC, to be officially released in September of the same year.
Almost 5 years have passed and from WhatsApp they are ending the support of their program for these versions, which would leave out cell phones like iPhone 5 or iPhone 5c, phones that hit the market in September 2013.
