With the newcomer to the streaming site, and the option to download all the apps on our Android, we have to download them to find out which one is best. Disney +, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or HBO, the four most important streaming platforms provide access to their content in a variety of ways. It's all about their official app, even though they don't have the same features.
The wider the platform for the broadcasts platform, your app should work better if it recommends new movies and series for its users. Usually they do all the work, although they do not perform the same skill. Both Disney + and Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and HBO provide the interface with a selection of their titles on the cover; divided into style, with recommendations and space for what remains of the middle of the breed. The four applications we are addressing fill that foundation, offering more similarities, but only one can remain as an expert: let's go and analyze what each application offers.

The same is true for the interface, not so much for selection
The four platforms offer very similar programs as the way to display articles, select them, access reproduction and display them is not too far from specific aesthetic details. In the case of construction Netflix looks very modern thanks to various ways to offer suggestions– Includes cover, suggestion cards, or Story format, for example. This makes the information interrupted in some way, without having to say that it's easy to see all available: the one displayed on the cover is always limited and depends on the performance of the recommendation algorithms.
Depending on the recommendations, something fundamental to figure out what to see next, Netflix has great potential, especially when profiles are integrated into algorithms. Each account user has their own grill, which Disney + also does very well. HBO lags behind as its functionality is harsh and has no profiles. It also happens with Amazon Prime Video, even though the platform solves it: profiles will be accessible to all accounts in the coming weeks.
Disney + has pledged to build a top-notch with cable, Netflix and incorporate the billboard format as more of a style to represent its titles. The other two see the exact cards usually, though Amazon Prime Video offers a whole new look with smaller pages than HBO. This last application needs to be overused as it clearly shows that it is after rest.
They all direct navigation through the menu below. In addition, Amazon Prime Video categorizes its content into advanced categories.
Lower key menus to facilitate navigation. Four applications include this type of menu: 4 Disney + items and Prime Video (Amazon has higher rankings); five options for Netflix and HBO. They all maintain direct access to the content of the streaming app: start, search and download; features included in the kids section and favorites on HBO as well as upcoming releases and other changes on Netflix. All of them keep the key, although Netflix distributes options better, especially in the More section. Amazon Prime Video doesn't include bad settings, and Disney + (icon at bottom right), but Amazon is very good at providing options to the user. HBO has a menu at the top right of its three points, a menu where you can customize anything, even the quality of content. The last one again.
Now the gaming has a definite twist: HBO
Losing the catalog and checking to see can be time-consuming, but there can be no doubt that the main purpose of applications is to produce content. On the way to doing it there is no big difference: just click the title to skip the player. Here we & # 39; play & # 39 ;, & # 39; pause & # 39 ;, forward and back for 10 seconds, from the menu of languages and subtitles, we can jump somewhere with a play bar (apps preview the exact box) and post content Google Chromecast. In gaming options there is also not much difference, or even its appearance. We emphasize something very useful: Netflix offers light control over the player. And Amazon Prime Video has access to X-Ray, title and streaming details. Minipoint them.
While gaming options are in play, the quality at which content is played is not. At this time this device is very lean since both Netflix and Disney + and Amazon Prime Video are adapting to mobile content features. Only high-end Android achieves high resolution in video and HDR, and downloads will vary in size depending on the device. And the exception is HBO too: video quality is usually high on most phones, always less than Full HD. This platform is the worst video quality.
The audio does not bring increased variance between the four (HBO is backwards). For a high-quality mobile phone, and with a good audio system, the listening experience is often complete and rich enough. It all depends on whether the external speaker or headphones are used, the quality of this also has an impact.
Extra: because not everything is a movie and series
So far we have compared four applications of their general functionality, but not all content and design: each platform often includes unique information to attract potential customers.
Amazon Prime Video has X-Ray functionality. Provides access information on the event being played: from ac tors on screen to production data. Don't you know who appears in the movie? Just pause, press X-Ray and see everywhere. It is a more useful option than it seems, though its full potential is only available in English.
Netflix offers unique ways to access trailers for each movie and series. News with preview, for example, and tab for upcoming releases (coming soon) The details in each article are very brief (X-Ray's Amazon Prime Video is a winner in this regard), although Netflix allows you to rate each movie and series, an option that ultimately improves the recommendation algorithm.
Disney + has & # 39; Expras & # 39 ;, a category similar to what DVDs and BluRays include. Deleted scenes, directional comments, texts and other extras which strongly suggests the identification of each topic. Not everyone installs it to the same degree.
And HBO … Yes, and it's in the final paragraph in terms of application: the data for each title is too short and doesn't add content to the title itself. Yes, the platform focuses more on exclusive quality content; which ultimately saves HBO.
Speaking of exclusions, each streaming service includes its own. Since it's also a deciding factor in apps, let's take a look at what they offer today:
- HBO. This platform is highly appreciated for the most valuable and award-winning series in history. Game of Thrones is just one example: HBO has 105 titles & # 39; Origins & # 39; Details are from the service in Spain.
- Disney +. This platform will gradually remain with all the movies and the Disney-owned series, with more. As for content made exclusively for the streaming platform, Disney + has 26 & # 39; Creatives & # 39; 26 from Disney, Pstrong, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.
- Netflix. This platform is a real cheat because it does not live on Netflix-only content. However, the catalog & # 39; Origin & # 39; largest: According to Flixable, it has 1,513 titles worldwide.
- Amazon Prime Video. The company has spent a few years investing in exclusive content, not because it's a great way to differentiate itself from others. According to Amazon United States, Prince Vido has 188 original titles.
Winning app: Netflix
The experience is often a distance, an expression and comparison of streaming apps: Netflix has been providing the player with access to the content catalog for many years, which is why its collaboration is so outstanding in terms of design, management, recommendations and watch. Details such as rating movies and series improve the proposal algorithm, a task that reshapes the cover more effectively than its competitors. For all these reasons, we have developed the Netflix app to reach number one in our comparison.
Number 2 is our choice of Amazon Prime Video. The interface doesn't stray too far from Netflix (and it doesn't), the use of the app is clear, high quality playback and Amazon incorporates a number of ways to manage the app, especially download and streaming quality. The sins are still lack of profiles, but we decided not to respond to this unfortunate point because Amazon Prime Video will soon provide them with all accounts. And X-Ray is a feature that adds a lot of value to reproduction.
Disney + has been the last broadcast platform to arrive, but it has come when homework is done. The catalog is not very large at the moment, and it does not offer many options for managing the app. However, having all the Disney, Pstrong and Marvel titles is a number no one can give. And the extras included in the movies and series eventually enhance the gaming experience.
In fourth place, and far from the other three programs, is HBO. A great platform property is involved, and it's the only thing that saves you. The app is unselected, has no choice, the playback quality is very strong, and doesn't offer unique user profiles. Sympathy: HBO will step up in the category by providing the percentage of care it provides in its application products.
