On Tuesday, Apple unveiled three versions of the Mac: the new Mac mini, the new MacBook Air, and the new 13in MacBook Pro, all featuring the company’s new MM-M1 processor.
But Apple Silicon’s revolution will not stop there, with MacRumors looking at its crystal ball and concluding that at least four more Macs will be equipped with a new processor by 2021. These are two newer versions of the MacBook Pro (14 inches by 16 inches), a new 24-inch Mac, and a smaller version of the Mac Pro.
Some of these computers are likely to launch in the spring of 2021, while others will have to wait until next fall. It is unclear when they will be released at the time of writing, but it is clear that the new Mac is the first.
In related matters, Apple has decided to keep Intel’s separate Mac mini and MacBook Pro 13in alongside the M1 variant. On the other hand, the MacBook Air is now only available with the M1 processor. In time, all Intel models will be released, but the process is expected to take a few years.
