We already know almost everything about the Pixel 9, including its technical specifications, its cameras and its screens; we also already know the differences between the models that will make up the range, including the new Pixel 9 Pro XL that Google will offer as its most advanced model to date.
Despite the amount of hardware news expected for the next Google event, the real protagonist should be the software; specifically, the new AI-based features which will be released alongside the new Pixel 9 and could also reach current models.
One such feature was leaked today, appearing in a promotional video posted by Android Headlines, and it has the potential to change the way groups of people are photographed. It’s called “Add Me,” and as the name suggests, it’s said to be able to add people to photos where they are not presentusing artificial intelligence. In other words, we can take a photo and then add ourselves as if we had always been there.
This new feature appears to be an evolution of the “Best Take” feature, which debuted with the Pixel 8 and already sparked some controversy at the time. Best Take works by taking multiple consecutive photos and allows combine faces to get the best result
The new “Add Me” works the same way, using two photos of the same location. The leaked video shows that the process involves taking two photos with different people; the app will be able to mix the two images, uniting the common elements and placing the people who appear in the first photo in the second.
As the video shows, this is ideal for ensuring that everyone is in the pictures
In addition to this news, the leaked promo video confirms other news that had already leaked, such as the new Pixel screenshots; a function that remembers what we have done on our mobile phone and allows us to find what we have lost, such as a photo or important information, simply by asking for it.
