Our workplace is a special place. Not just because of the time we spend on them, but because they are where we primarily use our Macs. Working on a Mac must be a happy place, although there are also maquero setups that fill you with nostalgia. Today we bring you a spectacular one. A maquero setup with so many screens I wouldn’t know what to do with it. I’m sure you could run an entire mission to Mars and still have screens to spare.
A very “humble” maquero configuration
Some users prefer maquera setups to run quietly. How much fewer things on the table, better. A Mac Studio, a good screen, maybe two, peripherals and that’s it.
Not so for Reddit user JoelMontgomery, who published his office a few days ago on this social network. It looks like this:
“Humble” is how this user describes their setup, in a clearly ironic sense. Here, we can see no less than six screens, distributed from left to right: a DELL monitor in an upright position, another DELL S2721QS 4K UHD which costs 349 dollars, a third which is a Cinema Display, a 27-inch iMac and another of an undetermined brand. The cast is completed by an iPad Pro from 2018 which continues to wage war although it will not be able to have a Visual Organizer because it is not an M1 model.
According to the user himself, he has accumulated monitors and equipment over the years. It uses the left side and the iPad Pro more than the two on the right. The resolutions are a bit chaotic tootake a look: 1200 x 1920, 3840 x 2160, 2560 x 1440, 5120 x 2880, 1050 x 1680 and 2732 x 2048. As for Macs, we’re looking at a Mac Studio M1 Ultra and a 2017 iMac with 32GB of RAM, an Intel i5 and a Radeon Pro 580.
This desktop is amazing, with iMac and Mac Studio M1 Ultra built-in. Although closer examination throws up a bit of chaos
And the question that has been asked for a long time is: are you using them all to pilot a rocket that goes to Mars? Well almost, almost. It indicates that above all works After Effects, which, as we know, is pretty intensive video editing. The three monitors on the left are connected to the Mac Studio, while the one on the right is connected to the iMac. Both are controlled by Universal Control, to switch work from one to the other.
There are those who like to work with two monitors, others with three screens. What this user is, in every way, impressive.
