NOW, Musk also wants his own email. The businessman confirmed via his own social network that a new messaging service is on the way. Its name is “X Mail” and the idea is that it is a much simpler, cleaner and more user-friendly alternative to what Gmail and other services offer.

Musk recently confirmed some details about his plans for start an email service. Faced with the rumor of the arrival of “X Mail”, an X user commented in a post that he would like to have an email with a simple, text-based interface and experience, without the complicated formats often found in emails. To this comment, Musk replied: “that's exactly what we're going to do.”
The person responsible for this post is a developer at xAI, Musk's artificial intelligence company, responsible for Grok, the AI available in X. Another Twitter user also commented that he would like to be able to use your username next to @x.com in “X Mail”and Musk replied, “yeah, it’s on our bucket list.”

This isn't the first time Elon Musk has spoken about his plans to create his own email. In the past, also via X, Musk confirmed to another X employee that his own email, “X Mail”, was under development.
The idea of a simple experience, based on clear text, is very interesting and could appeal to some users, especially those who use X constantly and go beyond the social network, taking advantage of its other features. However, it remains to be seen whether these characteristics this will be enough to encourage people to change services email, especially given the level of integration of Gmail and even Outlook with other services.
