Every quarter various consulting companies submit reports showing sales results for various mobile manufacturers around the world. Also very important Canalys, which published statistics in the fourth quarter of 2019.
And as every year, the fourth quarter is special for a simple reason: it's the one responsible for the iPhone launch at work. And that shows in sales. Very much.
Xiaomi and Apple are riding the beast in Spain
That reason explains how Apple has been able to defeat Huawei so far that can't be used in a country like Spain, which is not particularly clean in terms of mobile spending.
The growth of Apple Nothing less than 8%, has worked for the company to develop Huawei, which until recently had taken second place.
But that second position now appears Xiaomi, which is a surprise 66% increase compared to the same quarter last year and is about to reach Samsung, which is still early but needs a lot of restoration so that Lei Jun's company doesn't reach it. This has happened in India and now it looks like it's being repeated in Spain.
Xiaomi's future in Spain lies in India
Xiaomi is firmly positioned in India, and that the move can anticipate what they think of Spain.
Instead of fifth place LG is encouraged, with only 3% of the market. The five best-selling types account for 88 percent of the total market, leaving the remaining 12% at other firms such as Motorola, Sony or Nokia.
Huawei has a problem in Europe
As well as the rise of Xiaomi, Huawei's fall in our market is a surprise. This is in line with expectations as Huawei's new phones, such as the Mate 30 Pro, are not licensed to use Google apps and draw consumers back. But it is nothing special in our market.
In Italy the fall of the Chinese company is 33% and Apple has been able to overcome it. At present Xiaomi was unable to reach it but the movement we are seeing is similar to what is happening in Spain.
In France the fall is much larger, 42%, and is about to surpass Xiaomi. In the Gallic world the fifth force is the National Wiko, however it is down 25% strong, probably due to the rise of Xiaomi, its lowest competitor.
Finally, the data for In Germany, when Apple was the first but we saw a similar move down Huawei, with a 41% fall.
We'll have to see how companies behave in the first two quarters of 2020, with Apple not dropping its new release (though perhaps the iPhone 9 is giving it more power) and Samsung being able to sell the Galaxy S20.
