The big "lonely" big screen
The first important change we will find between the two devices has to do with the physical aspect: to stop the process of creating larger phones, Xiaomi decides to increase screen size of the new Redmi Note 9 Pro, which goes from 6.5 inches for the previous model, to 6.67 centimeters, though it does maintain both configurations – FullHD + – and technology-IPS-.
It also changes the format of the panel, which provides a notch in the form of a drop the previous model had, to accept a small hole found in the middle part, which sits on the front camera.
Another change related to construction is in the background, as we lose that fingerprint reader, which now happens to be located on the right side of the terminal, in the same way we saw on the Redmi K30. In addition, the position of the cameras is changing, and four sensors are located at square module mounted on the top edge of the wire.
The Redmi Note series returns to Qualcomm's more powerful chips than ever before
If there was a reason that not everyone seemed happy with the arrival of the Redmi Note 8 Pro at that time, no doubt Xiaomi's decision to equip its new phone with a MediaTek-enabled chip, instead of switching to a processor on the Qualcomm Snapdragon series.
This year Xiaomi has learned from its mistakes too don't just use the Qualcomm platform on the Redmi Note 9 ProIt also does it in a big way, equipping its new phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, one of the company's top-middle-class powerhouses, and the first in the Snapdragon 700 series to give life to the Redmi Note mobile series.
Alternatively, we also have 4 or 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, 64 or 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage and the ability to expand the internal memory with a MicroSD card. The other change is this increase in battery capacity, from 4,500 mAh for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, to 5,020 mAh for the new model, in both cases with 18W fast charging support
The same number of cameras, less megapixels
Xiaomi claims to have spent a large part of its efforts to improve i photographic experience
We meet again with an image system that contains four sensors in the background: head of 48 megapixels – Instead of 64 as of last year-, with the addition of a 12-megapixel "Ultra wide", 5-megapixel "macro" lens, and depth sensor. Other than the first, other sensors are very similar to those found on the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
In addition, the front sensor lowered its adjustment, departing 20 to 16 megapixels.
Apart from all that, it is possible capture 4K video at 30FPS with rear camera, photo mode on the front and rear cameras, and different “AI” modes that promise to improve the final capture quality.
In the absence of being able to test out the new generation of the Redmi series Note, the fact is Xiaomi's new terminal looks very good taking into account improvements in processor, larger battery and modern design. It will be necessary to ascertain whether the changes made to the image system are sufficient to give the effect of, at least, the height of the previous model.
