Last week, we also told you that, with an update, Xiaomi intends to add a video editor to the gallery app. Now, we find another interesting activity in that app: opportunities to use weather filters (rain or snow) in videos.
Raindrops or Snowflakes
The new meteorological filtering function was discovered by the XDA editor in version 2.2.15.12 of the Xiaomi Gallery within the latest MIUI 11 ROM in China. As they show from the line already mentioned, it is possible that this future feature is called "Strong sky filter" and then directly apply the rain or snow filter to the videos.
Igor Eisberg, from the Xiaomi Europe team, has benefited manually activate the function and share two attached videos showing what can be done with these new weather filters.
As can be seen in the pictures, these filters simply add a the splashing rain drops the glass or the snow falling which creates a very realistic effect and gives the video an entirely different aesthetic.
So far, Xiaomi hasn't given any details about the new feature, but it all shows that the filters will arrive first on the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, and in support of the Redmi K30 Pro (not yet announced).
