Send HD files by default on WhatsApp

Sending multimedia material is one of the most important attractions of instant messaging services. In recent months, WhatsApp has been improving this aspect with improvements like the one introduced a few months ago that allowed users to send images and videos in HD definition and not with the automatic compression that was done before. However, there was no option to automatically send this content at this quality. Until today. WhatsApp now allows users to set by default the quality in which they want to send their media content,

We show you how to change this setting below.

In the end, we can send photos in HD by default via WhatsApp

A few weeks ago, we explained to you how to send better quality images and videos to this link. This function has been incorporated with the aim of improving the compression in which the content has been sent to avoid that the quality is as high as possible and is not lost when sending as has been the case since the beginning of WhatsApp.

In a new update, the instant messaging social network Meta has decided incorporate an option that allows the user to decide in what quality they want to send multimedia content by default.

In other words, the user could decide to send photos and videos in HD without having to manually activate the increase in quality each time they send.

To do this, go to WhatsApp settings in the bottom menu and look for the option that says Storage and data.

Next, find the “File Upload Quality” option in the Media File Quality section. Once inside we can decide on the two options with which to send our files by default:

  • Standard quality: We are informed that shipping will be faster but the quality will be lower
  • HD quality: Shipping will be slower but the file will be 6 times better quality

Once configured, WhatsApp will send photos and videos with the quality chosen by default. Thanks to this we will not have to add the “HD” option to every video and photo we send.
