The “premium” version of the OnePlus 12R does not have the promised memory

“I am writing to you today to let you know that we made an error in our communications for the OnePlus 12R and to explain what happens next,” OnePlus President Kinder Liu said on the OnePlus Community forum.
“Due to a bug, we claimed that the storage enhanced by Trinity Engine would be UFS 4.0 on some variants. I can now confirm that the storage on all variants of the OnePlus 12R is still enhanced by Trinity Engine, but it’s actually UFS 3.1“.
After apologizing for the error, he added that consumers who purchased or reserved a OnePlus 12R can Contact customer service to resolve the misunderstanding, implying in a final message that they accept refunds.
“On behalf of our team, I would like to apologize to everyone for this mistake,” Kinder Liu said.
What is this Trinity engine? This is a set of OnePlus software improvements, which debuted with OxygenOS 14, to keep the company’s devices performing well. It will work the same on UFS 3.1 drives, so you shouldn’t worry about the lack of this technology – beyond the considerable increase in read and write speed – and even less considering the powerful hardware the device has.
