There are currently cell phones with incredible cameras, powerful processors for very demanding games and impressive screens, in addition to numerous artificial intelligence functions. However, many users still worry that our cell phones have the greatest possible autonomy. We need more battery, not just faster charging.

Fortunately, there are many ways to save battery life. We’ve already explained ways to extend the battery life of our phones, but if you own a Samsung Galaxy phone, there is a hidden feature among the options in the settings menu that allows save battery without having to delete the apps and games we love so muchbut they can consume too much battery.

Don’t let apps consume too much battery. If you don’t use it, hang it up

Modern mobile phones have a very efficient resource management and power consumption system. If your phone detects that an app is consuming a lot of power in the background, but you rarely use it, I’m going to put it on hold. In other words, it will disable it so that it cannot use resources or update, at least until we use it, that is, until we enter in the app.

I updated my Samsung Galaxy to One UI 6.1 and Samsung Browser became my favorite. These are the reasons

Cell phones do it smartly, but Sometimes even the apps we use daily consume too much power background. This is why Samsung Galaxy devices allow you to manually mute or suspend them and actually offer two levels of suspension.

This happened to me recently with two applications that I use a lot in the evening for entertainment. These are apps that I don’t need to use during the day, but they are still constantly updating in the background. It is in these cases that manual suspension of applications is very useful: I save battery and even data, but I can still use these apps whenever I want. The same thing happens with applications that I almost never use but I don’t want to uninstall them, I can pause them and reuse them whenever I want.

If you want to pause apps so they don’t consume too much battery, follow these steps:

  • We go to the settings menu and access the device maintenance
  • We continue Battery
  • Then we continue Background Usage Limits

Next we have several options that we can configure. The first that I recommend activating is “Suspend unused applications”, so that the mobile can automatically suspend applications. But we can also suspend apps manually:

  • Suspended requests: This option allows us to suspend an application but this application can still occasionally run in the background, to receive notifications only from time to time and consume fewer resources.
  • Deep Suspension Applications: This option allows us to completely suspend an application, although we can access it at any time to use it.

Your Android phone has a very useful secret button on the back. What is it for and how to activate it

By pressing the cross button in the upper right corner of each option, we can manually add the applications that we want to suspend, selecting them from the list of applications installed on our device. It is likely that the mobile phone has already suspended some applications manually, but it is advisable to add applications that consume too many resources in order to save battery.
