Gaming News 10 years after the release of Dark Souls, they find a hidden message in a place no one would have expected
Long before Elden Ring, players fell in love with Dark Souls – its relentless difficulty and fascinating universe… A love that can still be felt today with new discoveries.
When video game enthusiasts “really” like something, they have a reputation for not letting go easily. For years, for example, GTA 5 fans have been doing everything they can to solve the mystery of “Mount Chiliad” (which has proven endless with the longevity of GTA Online). A title that recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. That’s two years younger than a certain Dark Souls, another video game that continues to stir many people’s brains. Recently, a well-known detective in the FromSoftware community made a nice find: two messages left by the developers
Back to basics
Since 2013 – two years after the release of the action RPG – enthusiasts have known all the messages left by the developers of Dark Souls! Words that, like those of the players, take the form of glowing inscriptions on the ground and are generally intended to help the adventurer (especially at the beginning of the title). But with the Seek Guidance spell it is possible to reveal other letters, this time hidden. And two have been missing for ten years: “Try the light”
In a video released on December 12th, the famous Sherlock Holmes from Dark Souls, Illusionary wall, finally found the trail of the missing messages. And not in any version of the title: on the “vanilla” – that is, the version that was marketed at the time without the slightest update (the words were undoubtedly replaced or deleted later). It turns out that the first aid was written “Try the light”. at the beginning of Giant’s Tomb, an area where you can’t see 2 meters away without something illuminating you. Finally, the tip “Try the Lightning” was left right in front of the boss that allows access to this level – “Pinwheel”. Another puzzle solved by Illusory Wall.
